After all, what’s the difference between realistic drawing, abstract drawing, realistic realism, and so on? Types of Drawing
Doodling
Doodling, also known as “doodle art” or “drawing in cursive,” is drawing with a pencil, pen, or other fine-pointed instruments. It carries over from traditional writing, where children learn to write legibly by practising their letters repeatedly. Many adults also use this technique to help keep their minds fresh and agile during long meetings, classes, and commutes. The act of doodling is also thought to relieve stress.
Line Drawing
Line drawing is a simple yet effective way to create art and illustrations. When drawing lines, you need the tools necessary to create the lines. A pencil can create lines, but thin, straight, and exact lines require a ruler. Also, pencils can have irregularities, whereas rulers are exact.
Cartoon Drawing
Cartooning is the art of drawing pictures that make people laugh. If done correctly, it is deceptively difficult. People tend to think that it’s easy to draw the right shape. Some even try drawing what they think is a cartoon and then get frustrated when they realize they’re not laughing.
Architectural Drawing
Architectural drawing is an important part of any building. Architects make architectural drawings. They make drawings of buildings that are to be placed or constructed. Such drawings are made for planning purposes so that the construction process of the building can be started.
Geometric Drawing
Geometric drawing is just what it sounds like: drawing shapes in geometric shapes. A geometric shape is one whose sides are all the same length. So, there is no problem, for instance, drawing a straight line, as long as you know which side of the line is a side and which is the end.
Geometric art is all about symmetry, which is a property shared by objects, people, and objects in relationship to one another. Symmetry can also be associated with numbers, which are represented by the shape of numbers. For example, the number 6 (six) is a rectangle. Therefore, sixes are rectangles as well.
Diagrammatic Drawing
The diagrammatic drawing represents ideas or concepts in the form of diagrams. It is a method used to represent knowledge. It is comparatively unique in being a common form of diagrams employed in the social sciences. Diagrammatic drawings are usually informal.
Typography Drawing
Typography is the art, science, and skill of arranging type to make visual communication attractive and readable and to capture and hold a reader’s attention. In addition to lettering, it includes graphic design and illustration. You will need to learn the basics of typography drawing, including line work, shapes, and basic values to apply later. The drawing tools required are a graphite pencil, an 8B graphite pencil, and a kneaded eraser.
Drawing is not just about drawing; it is a complete art. It can express an idea or feelings with very few lines and colours. Drawing less maximizes the message. It is a creative expression that can represent you, your ideas, and your thoughts.
